Can you believe 2017 is almost finished?! What?! How did that even happen?! I swear I’ve just gotten used to writing 2017 on different forms and now I have to get used to writing 2018. Time slow down please!
Okay, enough worrying about things I can’t control. Here’s what I can control: sharing my behind-the-scenes photos from my 2017 wedding season! YAY! This is always such a fun post to create! I love remembering different parts of my couples’ days and seeing the crazy things I did to get the shots!
Here’s a peek into what goes into to making things happen on wedding day! Thank you to all of my incredible second shooters for helping out and capturing some fun moments of me during the day! I loved working with y’all!
P.S. Happy day after Christmas! Good luck to everyone who has to go back to work today!!!

Jen’s goal is to make the silliest faces for me whenever I am testing the light! 😉
My sister’s goal is to perfect her eye roll whenever I test the light! 😉
We improvised with a reflector and used a dress back to help fill the light on these dress shots!
The face your bride makes when she sees a sneak peek of the portraits! 🙂 Ahhh!!!
Sometimes you have to utilize whatever you can to get the shot, even if it’s an unstable golf cart! 😉
Yay! Happy Lex!
“I’m going to have y’all look that direction for me!”
“What about that way instead?”
More pointing and more confused looks!
“RAISE THE ROOF!!!”
You stand in the rose bushes to get shots like…
THIS!!!! Totally worth standing in the thorns for a second!
Giving the rings a pep talk and willing them to stay in the position I need them to!
More standing on objects I shouldn’t be standing on!
Sometimes I can’t resist joining in on the dance party!
I always feel like such a creeper getting under the veil! hahaha.
But then I get shots like this and I totally don’t feel bad anymore! hahaha.
Try to hustle to my spot! Can’t waste any time during precious golden hour!
I swear I’m not poking out Jason’s eyes!
More pointing! Sheesh! I look like such a bossy booty on wedding days! I promise I always say it nicely! 🙂
Testing light again with my second shooter, Rachel!
More pointing!
More directing and this time with an audience overhead! 😉
Testing a first look location with Danielle! 🙂
When you’re shooting downhill from your couple, you have to pull our your Barre Class moves! Calf muscles for daysss!!! hahaha.
This guy was legit there the whole time during bridal portraits, but you would never know with the photos we took!
Yay for working our angles to the best of our ability! Shooting at the mall in downtown Charlottesville, but making it look like no one was around was a fun challenge! 😉
Always standing on things!
When you’re a wedding photographer, you’re also a professional dress fluffer and bouquet carrier! 🙂 And I wouldn’t trade it for the world!
Whoa! I don’t know why I’m including this shot of myself lol. But I apparently have no shame, so here we are. Me looking demonic trying to get myself into position for the shot!
More dress fluffing! My brides need to look perfect on the big day! 🙂
More directing!
Beautiful Verlee helping me find a location for portraits! 🙂
Lexi practicing on me walking down the aisle! hahaha.
Overjoyed to be testing the light for me! hahaha.
Making sure that bouquet is just so!
Just directing a symphony right here. Nothing to worry about!
