With all this cold weather, it’s making me miss our trip to Florida even more!
Back in October, Justin and I explored Ft. Lauderdale, The Everglades, Miami, and The Florida Keys! It was a new favorite trip for me! We had such a fun time!
Here’s a quick breakdown of the things we did on our trip:
– Swamp Boat Tour
– Bike ride in The Everglades
– Beach time! 🙂
– Lots of yummy food!
– A Tour of the Ernest Hemmingway House
– A Kayak Ride in the mangroves! <—- beware of the creepy Key West Crabs!
– Bahai Honda State Park
– Key West Lighthouse
– Walked the Miami Strip!
– Ate lots of yummy Cuban food!
– Explored the Wynwood Walls
– Took a stroll along Ocean Drive in Miami
– Saw so much incredible wildlife and scenery!
On to the best part: the photos! 🙂
We biked 14 miles to this tower in the Everglades. That was our only shade the entire time.
Those vultures on the right?! We were warned that they might attack/steal anything left behind in our bikes. Creepy!
Beautiful!
This was one of our first stops in The Keys: the Lazy Days in Islamorada! Such a great experience to start our time in southern Florida. We so such much wildlife on this trip and I was in LOVE!!!
GAH! Cannot get over that clear water!
The sunsets were so beautiful!!!
I am a sucker for that blue water!!!
🙂 🙂 🙂
There were so many chickens and roosters that just freely roamed around Key West and I loved it! So quirky and fun! 🙂
A favorite! 🙂
Okay! I was a tad obsessed with photographing these guys! 🙂
If you can’t tell, I’m an animal lover. The Ernest Hemmingway House was home to so many 6-toed cats! Also known as, polydactyl cats!
Check out those paws!!!
If you ever visit Key West, I’d definitely recommend visiting the lighthouse. Not only was it interesting learning about all the different keepers, you could also see a birds eye view of the entire island!
In addition to all the feathered friends wandering around, Iguanas were just as prevalent!
The view from the lighthouse!
Justin was impressed! 😉
Of course I had to go check out the cemetery!
We viewed the pretties sunsets every night from Mallory Square!
We found this park on our way back home! It was Bahia Honda State Park and we will definitely be beachin’ here the next time we visit! 🙂
Justin was checking out all the sharks, here! Not pictured: all the people swimming not too far away! EEEKKK!
INCREDIBLE!
Of course, no trip recap would be complete without iPhone pics! Duh! 😉
First up, pics from the Everglades!
At the end of our swamp boat tour, we got to hold a baby alligator! Such a cutie!
Visiting the Wynnwood Walls in Miami!
Amanda and her friends were visiting Miami the same time we were! Naturally we all had to meet up! 😉
All of the AMAZING food we got to try on our trip! YUMMM!!!
Kayaking in the mangroves is not for the faint of heart! Those crabs are positively terrifying!
The rain tried to ruin all our fun!
After many rained out trips to the pool/beach, we finally had a gorgeous day! A dream!
Loved all the beautiful sites in Miami!
Key West is one of my new favorite places! I loved the colors of the ocean, the vibe of the community, and the SUNSHINE!!!
