3 years ago, justin and i celebrated our first valentine’s day. i was a senior at longwood and he was a sophomore at hampden sydney. i know, i’m a cougar. tell me something i don’t know. π we hadn’t made any big plans to hang out because i was the bible study leader of the girls’ group back at bcm (baptist collegiate ministries) and we decided to have a “girls’ night” at sweet frog! π i wasn’t planning for justin and i to do anything for valentine’s, because we and only been dating around a month at this point.
i also remember telling justin that i wasn’t a big fan of getting candy. especially the heart candies because they tasted like chalk.Β being the sweet boyfriend he was, he got one of my friends to leave a little “present” outside of my door so i could find it when i went to class. to my surprise, there was a little box of candy hearts with my name on them. “yay,” i thought to myself sarcastically, “my favorite.” when i opened the box, what i saw inside definitely wasn’t candy. it was CHALK! hah! too cute, right? 1. i couldn’t believe he actually remembered what i said and 2. how cool was that idea. it was such a cute and funny gift. i still have the “chalk” hearts to remind me of that sweet moment. definitely one of my favorite memories.
do you have a favorite valentine memory you’d like to share?
happy valentine’s day, sweet friends!
