forgive me if i’ve said this before, but MAN! the older you get, the years really do fly by even faster. i can’t believe it is already 2013. i’m praying it’s going to be a good one.  besides, 13 is one of my favorite numbers! good omen?! one can hope! 🙂

while i am really excited for what 2013 holds, i’m also blessed for what i learned and experienced in 2012. here’s a peek into how my year went (these are not in any order):

• kicked off my year with a new year’s day wedding
• started my very own blog
• call me maybe – okay, so maybe i’m still obsessed with that song just a wee bit 😉
• experienced a HUGE part of adulthood: paying bills (YUCK!!! student loans, car payments, bills, bills, bills!!!)
• dark knight rises – i LOVE batman!!! this movie was phenomenal and definitely one of my new favorites!
• start of MY very own business: – april 6^th
• my obsession with the hunger games started
• two of my best friends got married (congrats again to carly & jason AND anna & adam)
• my work was published in a magazine
• the olympics
• took school pictures for my kiddies at school
• attended my FIRST workshop with the always beautiful Katelyn james – can’t WAIT to show y’all the pictures from that awesome day and tell you all about my experience!!! 🙂
• the election
• beach trip with my family – it was so much fun and a much needed trip! i want to go back again!
• breaking dawn part 2 – okay, maybe this is silly to y’all! but it was the end of the saga! and my favorite one!
• my sister graduated
• got my nose pierced – and i didn’t even cry!
• lived with two new, awesome families 🙂
• had my first back-to-back wedding weekend
• expanded my photography equipment (yay for my 50mm 1.2 & my markii)
• survived the end of the world hahaha
• getting used to a new normal

so what does 2013 have in store for v.a. photography and me? we shall see! i have been working on a goals list for 2013. hopefully i’ll have that up sometime next week. it’s actually TWO lists: personal goals and business goals. i’m really excited for some of them too! i know you can start things whenever you want, but it just feels so nice to have a fresh start at the beginning of the year! i can’t wait to show y’all my goals i have for myself. maybe i’m just a dreamer shooting for the moon and have absolutely no chance at making those things happen, but hey, at least i’ll have a blast enjoying the adventure along the way.
