one of the great things about the winter, is that i have more down time. don’t get me wrong, i LOVEEEE having my weekends filled with a sweet couple tying the knot. it’s just nice to to have some time to relax and refresh during the “off season.” while it’s called that, it doesn’t 100% mean photographers are off during this time. i still have photography sessions, meetings with clients and other photographers, AND i’m getting my taxes prepared (yuck! haha). so you better believe i took advantage of this weekend! 🙂

i met up with the lovely laura, of laura ashley photography, on saturday. we had a great time dreaming up ideas and discussing goals! if you’re a creative going through a slower season, i highly recommend gathering other creatives in your group for some hot cocoa and bounce ideas off of each other. it’s fun to be in such a supportive and encouraging industry. i’m thankful for sweet friends, like her! 🙂

another thing that happened this weekend was a HUGE deal! I CLEANED MY ROOM! like… a serious-thorough-deepclean kind of clean. i went through stuff i’ve had in boxes from MIDDLE SCHOOL. yes, i admit, i think i have a little bit of a hoarder’s tendencies in me. thankfully, i was able to go through that stuff and get rid of a LOT! haha. i’m so excited i finally cleaned my room and found a spot for (almost) everything. now i’m going to have fun with it and decorate! 🙂 and hey! this was one of my goals for 2014 that i can finally check off! 🙂

lastly, i got to see american hustle last night. this is another movie with oscar nods, so i had to check it out. it has a bunch of amazing actors/actresses (jennifer lawrence and christian bale? hello!) in it and also has a pretty good story line. it’s a little confusing, though, so you have to pay attention. but definitely something i’d watch again. there are so many awesome movies come out soon! i can’t wait! 🙂
