So… I’m going to try a little something new. Not sure how it all is going to work, but we shall see. I would like to try blogging a series of posts. Something people can look forward to or at least expect on a weekly basis. You already got a peak at the title. Since I LOVE the number thirteen, I figured each week I could talk about a subject and list thirteen points. Sound good? I knew you’d love it! ๐
Let’s start the series with a post on what I am grateful to have in my life.
Even though I have a lot to be thankful for in my life, it does not mean that every day is sunshine and happiness. Today has been a little rough. Scratch that. This WEEK has been a little rough. I have had a hard time sleeping, the kids at work have been crazy and life in general has been a bit of a roller coaster. However, I still have so much to be thankful for and I need to never lose sight of that. Thanks, God, for keeping me in check.
Here are some things I am thankful for this week:
My job – Seriously, I think about it everyday. I am so blessed to have this job. It was totally a God-thing, too. I was planning on going to grad school this fall, but things fell through and I was stuck. I didn’t know what to do. I was a college grad with no future. AHHHH!!! Thankfully, my youth pastor had made some friends at the gym and met a lady who was a director at a preschool. He told her about my situation, I went in for an interview and thankfully they accepted me. It was a gift from God! ๐
My animals – They are so cute and cuddly. They always cheer me up on a grumpy day and love me even when I am hard to love.
My sisters – I love my sisters. We have grown so close over the years and it makes my heart smile. Yes, we fight like shoppers on Black Friday going for the last XBOX ย 360 sometimes, but at the end of the day we know we’re there for each other. I love you guys. P.S. STOP TAKING MY CLOTHES! <3 you! ๐
My church – Actually, I am thankful for my TWO churches. I really am a blessed girl. I have my Northview Church family that I love. I get to see them when I visit Farmville some weekends. My other church is Friendship Baptist. I have been going there since the end of my senior year in high school. They are always so supportive and friendly. My pastor is so genuine and everyone there makes you feel like family.
My wonderful friends and boyfriend – I could really go on and on about this one, but I won’t make you gag with all my mushy-gushiness (is that even a word? haha).
Books – Enough said.
Movies – Once again, enough said.
Sunny days – I don’t know about you all, but I LOVE to see the beautiful, warm sun after a rainy day. It puts a joy in my heart that I can’t explain. Just a simple happiness that makes my day 100 times better. Jesus is so wonderful!
Mexican food – As I was telling my sister earlier, one of the best pick-me-ups is Mexican for dinner. Who doesn’t love endless chips and salsa with a giant cup of sweet tea?
Purple – It is such a pretty color. My friend Amanda Ruth would agree! ๐
Laughter – As cliche as it sounds, laughter truly is the best medicine. That’s why I watch an episode of Friendsย every night before I go to bed.
My parents – No matter what happens, I will love them with my whole heart.
My Jesus – How can you not be thankful for someone who loves you? He gave His life for me even though I didn’t deserve it. He loves me no matter what I do and is always there. For that I am eternally grateful and can’t wait to spend eternity thanking Him. <3
Happy Thursday, my lovelies!
