With Valentine’s Day coming up, I figured there are quite a few people scrambling for some fun date-night ideas. OR, if you’re like me, you’re always scrambling for fun date ideas! I thought it’d be fun to talk about different ideas you can do for a fun night (or day out). And “Date Night” applies to your boo or you friends! All of these ideas can work for anyone!

What’s your favorite date-night idea?

Here are some of mine:

Byrd Theater: This is an all-time favorite place of mine. I love going to this local theater. It’s full of character, $2 a ticket, and a fun experience.

Can Can: Okay, so I just went here for the first time last week, but it was awesome. It definitely has date-night potential. PLUS, I’ve heard their hot chocolate is in the Top 5 best hot chocolates in RVA. #mustgonow

Belle Isle: love this place. Every time I go, I always discover a new nook and cranny. It’s the perfect adventure to experience with someone you care about.

Short Pump: Okay, so maybe I’m just a boring person, but when my girlfriends come to town, we LOVE strolling around this shopping center. It’s the perfect place to wander, maybe buy something here or there, and eat a delicious cookie skillet (Baker’s Crust, anyone?).

Cinebistro: I went for the first time on mine and Justin’s anniversary and it was so cool. When we first arrived, I felt like we were in a massage place. The music playing was so tranquil and everything was so calm. I loved it. The food was delicious and the staff was excellent as well. AND the seats were super comfy. If you’ve been dying to see a particular movie, this is definitely worth the splurge. Perk? The popcorn has free refills. My favorite price! 🙂

Painting: There are so many fun places that offer classes on painting and provide wine. Yes please! I’ve been dying to try one of these classes! Who wants to go with me? 🙂

Coffee & Bookstore: This is the best budget-friendly date. Go to Barnes ‘n’ Noble (or your local bookstore) with your favorite warm beverage (hot cocoa for me, please) and find your little corner. Grab a good read or some fun travel books and just have a book date with your love.

VMFA: The past few times Justin and I went to the art museum we really enjoyed ourselves. It was fun to explore different pieces and pretend we actually knew what we were talking about. 😉

Concerts: I’m terrible about attending local concerts, but they really are such a fun date. There’s a fun band coming to town this Friday actually, The Legwarmers. They’re an 80’s tribute band and SO FUN!

Massage: While my last massage experience was definitely interesting, I do think it’s a fun date idea. As long as you’re not like me and laugh when a stranger tries to rub your shoulders. Yeah. It happened.

Photo Session: Shameless plug! 🙂 But seriously, they’re so fun and such a fun time to love on each other and be told to show some PDA. I really believe they are therapeutic and perfect for a fun date! 🙂

Geocaching: I have always wanted to do this. I saw it on a tv show and even met a couple where their engagement story involved geocaching! So cool! Have you ever done it before? It’s like a huge scavenger hunt with the world. I can’t wait to do it!

3 Courses at 3 Restaurants: This is something else that I always thought would be fun. Start by eating an appetizer at one restaurant, your main course at another, and finishing up with dessert at the final location. Maybe it’s because I love food or maybe it really is a cool idea. You’ll have to decide. 🙂

Roadtrip: This one is pretty self-explanatory. Just get in the car and drive. You don’t even have to have a plan. Just have an adventure. I’m sure you will never forget it.

Now that I’ve written about this ideas, I’m really hoping me and Justin can do at least one of these things on Saturday. What should we do? What will YOU plan to do?

P.S. Guess what day it is? HUMP DAY! <—– We’ve been teaching my kids at school to say it like the camel does on the Geico commercial. They’re pretty awesome kids, if I do say so myself. 😉
