nostalgia is always something that brings forth creativity. i don’t feel like i’m looking back on the past, just appreciating what once was. i guess that’s the whole point of this “new year” thing. to appreciate the good times we once had while embracing what lies ahead.

i wrote a similar post to what i’m about to write, last year, and couldn’t help but doing it again.

it’s always fun to reflect on where the past year has taken you and this time is no different. plus, if you’re feeling down and discouraged, it’s helpful to trace back what you’ve been through and you’ll see how much you’ve actually been blessed. at least, that’s how it works for me! 🙂

here are some of the highlights for 2013:

– got addicted to the walking dead

– had a photo session with a beautiful ballerina

– became obsessed with zumba!

– had my first set of professional head shots taken by the lovely annamarie!

– met the amazing amanda hedgepeth!!! i attended her q&a, she came to our shoot share to support us, i got to second shoot with her, AND attend her Christmas party! seriously, this lady is a rockstar and i love her to pieces! she will soon be the mama of two beautiful little girls, too! 🙂

– did my first official styled shoot!

– dreamed big with nikki and amanda. the shoot share came to life!

–  lost too many people. rest in peace paul walker. you were a great soul for this earth and you are greatly missed.

– got TWO fuzzy orange surprises this year: fred and george!

justin graduated! YAY!

– i got a website!!!

– got to see jeremy camp perform in south carolina!

– survived the government shutdown.

– met a real-life angel!

– became a mac

– leaned on God; He provided, like always

– had to leave my favorite place in the world

– started a new job

learned to be content with waiting and trust God; once again, He is awesome and really does have the best in mind for me!

– had beautiful pictures taken of justin and i from my bpf!!! i still love them so much and need to get them printed! 🙂

-crossed a shoot off of my photo-bucket list!

– survived my first wedding being SICK!

– went to the p31 conference!

– got to visit with my sweet friend anna, when i went to georgia!

– got addicted to candy crush!

– had a coaching session with katelyn james and it was a blast!

– blurred lines was probably my favorite song of the year

– had lots of fun family time!

while there were times i got discouraged during 2013, it was still an amazing year. i am so thankful for everything God has blessed me with in this life. i’m thankful for everyone who has believed in me and supported me in this photography adventure. i cannot even imagine my life without it!

2013 was a year of thankfulness! i can’t wait to see what 2014 holds. i pray for everyone to have peace and love in the new year! God bless!
