alrighty. here it is. the list. my goals. what i’m planning on working my booty off for this year. THIS is what i need and want to make happen. i can’t believe i am being this vulnerable and sharing this with you all. this means i have to do something about it. i can’t just make a list, get intimidated, and then try again next year. nope. ain’t happening. i made this list because i am a dreamer and i want this to happen. i NEED this to happen. this is my life and i want to take this journey. i’m ready to work hard and see where this adventure takes me.

welp, here goes nothing. this is my business to-do list for the year! 😉

• get more organized – i just want to have a home for everything and not go into sheer panic when i can’t find things right away because i’ve moved them to a different location. less mess = less stress. 😉
• more giveaways – who wouldn’t love that?
• book more weddings and seniors – i love love LOVE them and would love to do more! they’re so fun! i get to be so creative with senior sessions and it’s fun to try new things. photographing weddings, is like living in a fairytale. I LOVE IT!!!
• get a camera bag – yeahhhhh!!! already crossed one thing off my list! a blog post on that soon!
• buy the 100mm 2.8 – ideally i would like that AND the 35mm. it would just be nice to not have to rent so much, but hey, all things come at the right time. i need to be content and work with what i have. my time will come!
• get better with posing – being totally honest here, i get SO NERVOUS when it comes to posing, especially couples. i’m afraid they won’t like the pose or that it won’t look natural. i would like to feel more comfortable with posing my clients and making everything look more organic.
• get a group of photogs together to learn and have fun – i just think this would be awesome! it would be nice to have a get together and just help each other out! lemme know if you’re interested! we’re all in this together (just like the high school musical song – wow! i’m cool!)
• networking –  this is definitely something i need to get better about!  i would love to get to know more photographers and vendors! i need to work on that this year! time to step out of my comfort zone! 😉
• branding – YAY!!!!!! i’m so happy to annouce that i will soon be getting a website and a brand that will fit me!!! so so so so excited!!!! can’t wait to blog about that and tell y’all more!
• p31 conference – i am so so so excited about this opportunity! i can’t wait for october and the chance to meet so many wonderful woman and have a great time praising God and keeping Him at the center of my business!
• be more confident and believe in my business and myself – this is pretty self-explanatory!
• create a better workflow – i would like to have a visual reminder and a way to check off what i’ve done! it’s the reinforcement that helps ya feel accomplished! 🙂
• reach 1500 fans by 2014 – can it happen?! we shall see! 😉
• get professional headshots – this will be so much fun and i can’t wait!!!!! this will be perfect for the reveal of my new website too! 🙂
• get featured – maybe this is a long shot, but one can dream, right? it would be AMAZING to see one of the weddings i’ve photographed to be featured. a dream come true!
• do a boudoir session – this has been a goal of mine since i made my “photography bucket list.” i would like to make this a reality this year. any takers?
• have a blogging schedule – it would be nice to plan things out ahead of time and not stress about what to write.
• create a pricing guide to send to clients – this would be awesome and so much more professional. ANDDDDD i can also incorporate my new branding into this. eeeeeeppp!!! 🙂
• get better at spellchecking my posts – it’s pretty sad when ariel (my 11-year-old sister) corrects my spelling errors after she reads my blog. haha. i need to get on that. 😉

and while i’m being honest and putting myself out there, here are a few of my personal goals i would like to accomplish as well:

• get better about my jesus time – i want to grow closer to Him and that’s pretty hard to do when i skimp on time reading about Him. i would really like to get back into journaling my devo time.
• finish reading the last book in the hunger games – maybe this is a lame goal, haha. but i NEVER have time to read anymore. i would love to finish this last book. it’s such a good series!!!
• healthier lifestyle – less fastfood, more exercise, etc. this is my home. i need to take care of it!
• host a 31 party – wanna come?! just lemme know! 🙂
• get back to working out – it’s so hard to get motivated. anyone wanna be my workout buddy?! 🙂
• have a routine – maybe this is lame too, but my life is so come and go, it has no real routine. well, besides work haha. but even then my schedule can vary week to week. i would like to have a BEDTIME and not go to bed at random hours every night. i’d like to get a workout in a few times a week and just have things more planned out. i feel like doing this, i’d have more time to do other things and way less stress. wow, i must be getting old if i’d like to have a bedtime for myself haha.
• read more books for pleasure – again, i feel like having a better routine would help this. maybe i could start reading before bed? i hear a lot of people do that. maybe i can be one of those people haha.
• take clothes to plato’s closet and goodwill – i have had this PILE of things to get out of my room, yet i have done nothing with it. i would love to get it out of my sight before the end of january.

well there you have it. these are my goals. if you made it all the way to the end, thank you! i know that was a lot to go through haha. i’m sure i’ll have more added on throughout the year, but this is a good start. i’m ready to do this and make things happen this year. 🙂
