one of my friends suggested that i talk about my favorite bible verses for one of my posts. i really liked that idea so here it. these are some of my go-to verses when i need comfort or help or encouragement or whatever from God. some of these verses have helped me through some difficult times. God has used them to talk to me and show me His love. how cool is that? to have a personalized message from the Creator of the universe. i hope some of these verses bring you encouragement or love. i pray they comfort you and you find peace, or at the very least put a smile in your heart. our God is amazing! can i get an amen?! 🙂

1. “everything is possible for one who believes.” – mark 9:23b (my favorite verse. you just have to believe. God makes everything possible through Him.)

2. do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. and the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. – philippians 4:6&7 (being the anxious person that i am, these verses are literally on repeat in my heart.)

3. now may the Lord of peace himself give you peace at all times and in every way. the Lord be with all of you. -thessalonians 3:7 (this is another good verse for my anxiousness, i sure do need a lot of them haha.)

4. whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters. – colossians 3:23 (work for God. ultimately He’s the only one that matters in the end.)

5. be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you. – ephesians 4:32 (it is SO important to be kind, but SO important. i know this is cliche, but sometimes we are the only example of God people see. show his love. don’t be judgmental. it’s not our place. be open and loving and forgiving. kindness goes a long way.)

6. and we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to his purpose. – romans 8:28 (remember that He is on our side and is rooting for us to win.)

7. what, then, shall we say in response to these things? if God is for us, who can be against us? – romans 8:31 (again, God is on our side. all things are possible.)

8. Jesus replied: “‘love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ this is the first and greatest commandment.” – matthew 22:37&38 (the most important thing for us to do is LOVE JESUS. end of story.)

9. “therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life? but seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.” – matthew 6:25-27&33-34 (again, such a great passage to help with worrying.)

10. when you pass through the waters, i will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. when you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze. – isaiah 43:2 (this is a very comforting verse. He is with us through everything. don’t be afraid. take comfort. He is by our side the whole way.)

11. so do not fear, for i am with you; do not be dismayed, for i am your God. i will strengthen you and help you; i will uphold you with my righteous right hand. for i am the Lord your God who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, do not fear; i will help you. – isaiah 41:10&13 ( just picturing that God has us in His hands is so overwhelming. i am in awe that He wants to help us.)

12. do you not know? have you not heard? the LORD is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. he will not grow tired or weary, and his understanding no one can fathom. He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. even youth grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. they will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint. – isaiah 40:28-31 (again, such a great picture to see. He holds us at our weakest moments and delivers us through to the other side.)

13. when you lie down, you will not be afraid; when you lie down, your sleep will be sweet. – proverbs 3:24 (this is one of my favorite verses for when i get so anxious i can’t sleep. i am reminded that God is with me and will help me to not worry. i know that He’ll protect me from my fears.)

wow! these are such good verses. God is so great. even as i am writing this post right now, i am going through some hard stuff and these verses have really helped calm me down. i really need to do a second and third part haha. never forget that God is there and he LOVES you so very much. He has a plan for your life. a very unique plan. he will guide you every step of the way. while He is with you in your darkest moments, He’s there when you shine too. don’t forget Him. with God everything is possible. you have to have faith and believe it. we were made to love. show someone God’s love today. let Him shine through your life. you’re here for a reason. believe it! <3

these are pictures of my new bible! i had to replace my old one because i used it all through college. a dear teacher in high school gave it to me as a graduation gift. i wish i could see him now to let him know how much it helped me. thanks mr. scott! 🙂
